Steve Bosley....

Hi, I'm Steve Bosley. You could stop here, but, please, read on.

I first heard about Doug and the Slugs from Bob Popowich, who was at that time, bass player with 6 Cylinder. He informed me these guys were auditioning bass players. My first response was "aren't they a punk band?" I was intrigued because they had gained notoriety through just a few theme dances. So, I auditioned in Oct 78 and was their obvious choice -- as I was the first one to actually bring a bass guitar and knew how to tune it (something, that as time went on, would prove to be an increasing challenge as complimentary back-stage refreshments became more plentiful.) And besides, I had my own stage lights AND could run them from the stage while playing.... They told me I got the gig, I said I'd think about it ... and when the call didn't come in from Joan Jett, I took the gig.

I also knew how to silk-screen T-shirts and ran off several editions of the original Doug and the Slugs T-shirts -- a job I later delegated to Doug, as my role as the "evening Slug ambassador about town" increased. These T-shirts are now collector's items, still worth several dollars each.

I remained the bass player for Doug and the Slugs for 16 years (oh, what a night!) I'm currently playing bass for legendary blues artist David Gogo as well as doing some work with Steelhip. Of course, I don't really need a full time gig due to the mammoth residuals I still receive from my work with Doug and the Slugs.

What else can I tell you about myself, you ask? I'm still "Rockin' the Night Away" (MY choice for the first Slugs' album title......)
