December 07, 2002 - The Ingraham Hotel, Victoria, BC:

Sometimes you just have one of those gigs where everything goes perfectly... the Ingraham is under new management since the last time we played here... the new owner, Randy, meets us at the front desk and it's apparent right from the introductions that he's going to take good care of us... talk about hospitality! The entire staff in this place is awesome...

It's a special night for me tonight, though I'm unaware until it happens... earlier in the week I get a phone call from a friend of mine on the island... she asks if I can put her on the guest list and to put 'plus one' beside her name, because she might bring someone with her... I remember to do this (amazing for me) and at 5pm there's a knock at my hotel room door... I open my door and in walk these two gorgeous playboy bunnies... oops, that part was a dream... but there's Elio and the friend I put on the list... and then my sister (she lives in San Diego) comes walking around the corner... she just wanted to surprise me and is staying for the show, then leaving again in the morning... wow... anybody else out there have a sister as cool as that? Anyway, what a great surprise! '

That 70's Band' opens up the show for us tonight... we've worked with them before and they're a very entertaining opening act... and there are lots of friends out in the audience tonight... the show is great, not much sleep afterwards, ahh, the life of rock and roll... next stop Quesnel! C U then... Marc.
