February 13th, 2003 - The Lighthouse, Red Deer, Alberta:

It's a short drive, maybe one hour, from Rocky Mountain House to Red Deer, so we have the rare luxury of time today... a good thing, because we have to stop at the Greyhound terminal to pick up the keyboard stand that Ed has shipped there... it should be waiting for us when we arrive... and it is! Okay, I'm resting a little easier now... no more batcaves... again, thanks go out to Ed and Mike Dinger for making it work!

The Lighthouse is fairly new and it's a great looking club! The stage is quite high, plenty of room, and we've got the same production team as last night, so everything runs smooth... there's an actual boat inside this two-level club, running full-length down one side, and this is where the kitchen and back room area are - inside the boat... Jeanette and Shane are the owners and they make sure we feel right at home immediately...

Dan Brisebois shows up tonight with camera in hand, resulting in many more pictures on the website... thanks for that again, Dan! (Except maybe for that one where I look like an evil warlock, with my eyes shining back at the camera... actually, maybe that's a good look for me...)

... the Walmart dancers are back tonight, although this time Doug gets into the act, including his own rear end in the bum solo... AND THEN!... well, actually before that... we're still in the middle of 'Terminal City' and Doug finds my look-alike in the crowd... he gets 'Zorro #2' down on the dance floor and then has me join him there for all to compare... there's twin goatees, bandanas, vests... I have to admit it... he's a damn fine looking gentleman!

That's about it for the short drives between gigs this time out... we've got a nine hour drive tomorrow, so after a few pictures with Dan, his relatives, and the club owners, we head back to our hotel for a four hour sleep, before heading on to Saskatoon... until next time... Marc.
